Conquerors IN the trials

Tonight I asked a friend to pray for me, that I would have faith even when I don't see.  It is easy to be confident when things are going smoothly, but to believe when things aren't going as planned, now that is a different story.  That takes some real faith. What is faith exactly?  The word says "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." Hebrews 11:1  For me, it is believing what God's word says, even when I don't see it manifesting right away.

I have had dizziness, pressure in my head and finally ending with a dull headache for the past 3 days.  I wasn't feeling whole, at peace physically or healed, but God's word says: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."  Isaiah 53:5

On the way home I was listening to a great worship mix, 2 songs really spoke to me I Lift my Hands- Chris Tomlin.  The line "Be still there is a healer, His love is deeper than the sea.  His mercy, it is unfailing, His arms a fortress for the weak.  Let faith arise."  I felt faith rising, my headache started to go away. "...for I am the LORD, who heals you" Exodus 15:26b  Right before I decided to write this post I got a text from a good friend "How are you feeling?  Any better?  "The Lord will fight for you, you need only BE STILL." Exodus 14:14  AMEN!!

The other song that was speaking to me: The Desert Song- by Hillsong.  I loved these lines "This is my prayer in the fire, in weakness, or trial or pain.  There is a faith proved of more worth than gold, so refine me Lord through the flame.  I will bring praise, I will bring praise, no weapon formed against me shall remain.  I will rejoice, I will declare, God is my victory and He is here!" & "All of my life in every season, you are still God, I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship."    And I was singing it, let me tell you, because I do have a reason to sing.  You see the word says "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37  It doesn't say we are conquerors before the trials. It doesn't say we are conquerors after the problem is over.  It says we are MORE than conquerors IN all things.  Sometimes when we face difficult things we go with our feelings...we get down, discouraged and complain.  Perhaps instead of focusing on the negatives, we need to find something to be thankful for, the silver lining on that gray cloud.  Bringing praise to God, lifts your spirit, and gets you focused on Jesus, where our eyes should always be fixed.  He is healer, he is provider, he is stronger, and in Christ, we have strength for all things. (Phil 4:13)

So in whatever you are facing, instead of declaring the problem.  Declare the word, that even IN this trial, you will be victorious through Jesus!  "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57  My headache is gone, Jesus is my healer.

  2. "So in whatever you are facing, instead of declaring the problem. Declare the word...." Right on! Declare the Word. We are conquerors in Jesus. Great encouragement!

  3. This is great! It is harder in the storm to praise and have faith, but so very important to growing in the Lord! Thank you for sharing and linking up at Simply Helping Him! Blessings!
