GREATER Giveaway

I just finished the book "GREATER" by Steven Furtick.  It really was a great read and I recommend everyone read it.  To make it a little easier for one of my readers to do that, I am giving a copy a way.  To enter the give away please leave a comment below.  I have found it is easiest to do that by clicking on comments, choosing the "anonymous" option and then just leave your name in the post.  Be sure to check back to see if you have won! Will be announced by the end of the week.

This book came at a perfect time for me.  It follows the calling of Elisha to be a prophet of God, how God called him to do something "greater".  I learned a lot.  One thing I found that was creeping into my life was discontentment.  God was not having that though!  I love how he always pulls you back in.  I heard this poem in a sermon recently:

First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
Then I was dying to finish college and start working.
Then I was dying to marry and have children.
Then I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school, so I could return to work.
Then I was dying to retire.
Now I am dying and suddenly I realized I never lived." -Unknown

One way God really spoke to me through this book was showing me that to start living the real life, the greater life Jesus came to give me was to start off by being content exactly where He has me.  I refuse to let the enemy steal anymore time from my life.  Christine Caine said recently: "We are waiting for something to happen to be satisfied, when in fact, the SOMEONE has all ready come."  Jesus is all we need.

I know you won't be disappointed if you read this.  It spurred me on to many moments of prayer, and really challenged me to examine my life.  Had a few quotes that really impacted me, wanted to share these two in particular with you:

"When you embrace the limitations of your current situation and decide to trust God completely and operate with Him fully in this season of your life, even greater things are possible."

"Most likely for you standing at some distance is your very own cast of parents, friends, aunts, uncles, coworkers and spectators, maybe a spouse, maybe your children - all waiting for you to take your place.  They are waiting for you to do the things only you can do by the power of God's Spirit."
-Steven Furtick

For me the chapters of this book, Greater,  shouted be content!! I know God will speak a different message to everyone; but for me it was live in the moment, see the beauty and the purpose God has for you, right now, today, in what seems like the mundane.  You are the only one He has put there. The only mom for those precious kids, the only teacher to impact those wondering students, the only businessman in the cubicle next to the guy who needs Jesus.  Where you are is where God wants to use you and only you for His purpose today.  Don't look for the next best thing always, look around and ask God to show you what Better thing He has for you currently.  My good friend always says "Use me anyway you see fit!"
