His Abundant Grace

I love the first line of the song This is Our God by Hillsong it says "Your grace is enough, more than I need at your word I will believe..." I am starting to realize the truth that God told Paul, "My grace is sufficient for you" is true of any circumstance we can face. If you have enough grace you can do any anything.

God's supply of Grace is always available, but I have found that I experience it the most when I acknowledge the provision. When I take a brief moment to believe God's word. That when he said "My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness" That when I am at my weakest, His grace is available to me, his power is ready to make up my lack. Now if I can just remember that truth.

I am just beginning to scratch the surface on focusing on the provision instead of the problem. Just last week the kids were having a particularly "off" day, they were arguing a lot. I was starting to get frustrated, but as I would start to walk in the room I felt The Holy Spirit lead me to sing that first statement of the song mentioned above "Your grace is enough, more than I need..." I felt the stress leave my body and a calmness take it's place. His grace is always there for us and always more than we need, but for me if I don't remind myself it's there sometimes I let myself be lead by emotions and not His Spirit.

So the next time you are facing a tough situation, not getting along with family, having a hard day with the kids, stressful time at work, just take a moment to acknowledge his supply of grace for your circumstance. The apostles knew how significant the comprehension of the grace, peace and mercy of God is to a victorious life.  That is why almost all of the letters to the churches and apostles start the first few sentences with "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.". For believers, that is what we have from God and Christ grace and Peace....Jesus made this possible.

I have been hearing a lot of talk about preachers and believers all over the world sharing the message of the "Grace" of God.  I think they are right on.  I am just starting to see in my own life how significant His grace is, like never before. Understanding grace must be powerful because Paul wrote to the church at Colosse "All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since you heard it and understood God's grace in all it's truth." Colossians 1:6  When I read that last week I thought, wow that is amazing, because that is what is happening now!

By God's grace believers in Jesus as their Lord are saved from eternal separation from God... That much I had been taught all my life and known to be true. And it is!! Praise Him!!!  His grace doesn't stop there, we don't "just get in" to heaven (and if that was it- that would be more than enough!!) Also by his grace we can have victory in every area of our life.  And that is why I am asking God every day to continue to reveal more of His grace and all it's truth.  One verse that impacts me every time I read it is "For if by the trespass of the one man (Adam), death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17  So the grace is there, God has it abundantly provided for us, now if we will just take a moment and acknowledge and receive what He has for us, we will reign in this life.  And if we are reigning, stress isn't, worry isn't, fear isn't, the devil isn't.  Through Christ we are MORE than conquerors.  If you don't feel like you are conquering ask Him for a revelation of His abundant grace for your situation, and start believing Him when He says "I have strength for ALL THINGS in Christ who empowers me" Philippians 4:13amp  Jesus is the answer and the way for your complete deliverance, all things means: ALL THINGS.

I pray that today you revisit God's grace, the strength of Jesus, the truth of God's word.  Jesus is the full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) and the revelation of these truths come through him (John 1:17) He is the answer.

I'm so glad you found me at WFW because I am loving what you say here ... God provides. Whether it is grace, food, mercy ...
Two favorite truths here (1) I experience it the most when I acknowledge the provision - isn't that the truth! God just waits to give us more but wants the praise - the recognition - that all we have comes from Him first; and (2) focusing on the provision instead of the problem - Whew ... now you're talking! In every situation, when I turn around and look at the issue with God's eyes I easily see His provision and then I have to gratefully repent and ask forgiveness for my "all too human" ways. But what a blessing when we can grasp that!
Thanks so much for this lovely post.
Blessings in His name for your entire family!

    1. Yes! If we can just remember to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, we too can have peace in the storm, and rise above whatever we are facing. In Christ we are more than conquerors!

  6. I have experienced that when I take time to stop and acknowledge His grace in my life, I settle down as well. It makes me grateful and reminds me that He is there.
