TODAY....

Today I planned to turn the tv on to keep the kids entertained and quiet while I put my feet up for a few minutes.....but I thought a game of Hungry Hippos would be way more fun for them....turns out it was for them & me.  The laughter that exploded in our house was contagious.  I love when they laugh.

Today I planned to sip a cup of coffee & finally start that book while my kids played in the snow......but I thought the kids would be surprised if I showed up & crashed their snowman making party & offer my assistance.....the smiles on their faces as I helped them get the eyes to stay in: priceless, turns out playing in the snow & sledding is way more fun than reading a book!

Today I planned on going out and celebrating my good friends birthday, until my husband got sick and we had to cancel.....but I thought, I'm not going to be down, so I made the most of it, instead of complaining I decided I will do what I would want someone to do for me when I'm feeling under, serve & help anyway I can.....turns out it it is better to give than to receive.

Most days I don't always choose to do the creative, fun, serving things with a good attitude, but today I did....and I am so refreshed.  Now my husband is asleep, the kids are down, my feet are up and I'm about to crack open that book.

I want more days to be like TODAY.
