Enjoy that time!!!

Obviously I have not written on the blog in a while, for any of you who were reading it in the past, SORRY!  There has been A LOT going on over here, just unbelievable, great stuff!!  Been so busy and involved in everything and then of course with the Holidays just have not had the time to write, but I got a moment tonight and wanted to share a thought I have been having for a while..........

I wanted to share a moment that changed my perspective recently.  I have a canister vacuum and every time I turn it on, my kids come a running!  I used to think "Can I just vacuum a room by myself in peace?!"  I try not to think that anymore!  So....... I was vacuuming, Drew was riding on the canister and Emma was pushing the on and off button and moving the suction speed up and down.  Ahhhh the joys of motherhood.  I felt frustration starting to rise, I just wanted to finish!  But then God put a thought in my head.  "One day you won't have anyone with you when you are vacuuming, no one will be pushing the buttons, turning it off, tangling up toys in the chord, it will be quiet, you won't be disturbed and you are going to wish that someone was there riding the vacuum."  I almost fell to the floor.  It was true..... Immediately the country song popped into my head: YOU'RE GONNA MISS THIS.  The chorus says:

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days
Hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But, you're gonna miss this.

I tell you I was bawling as I was vacuuming (as I was when I was writing this re-living the moment)!! I stopped and just hugged my sweeties.  I welcome vacuuming, cleaning, cooking help now.  I sing that song every time I start to get bugged and selfish with my time, or when I get interrupted.  Helps sooo much, so just thought I would encourage fellow moms in my same boat!

  3. Glad you're back...I've missed you. And, you've brought tears to my eyes because it is so true, the time goes so fast. Seems like I said that just a few months ago before my baby was walking down the aisle to become a husband.
